Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some common questions we receive here at Prime CBD, we hope this helps.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in the flowers of the hemp plant. CBD was once over-shadowed by THC (the compound in cannabis sativa that causes a buzz) but in the last five years there has been a dramatic increase in scientific research into CBD. Much scientific research is currently being undertaken, all around the world, into CBD and the other cannabinoids, and in the next five years we will likely see an exponential rise in the numbers of users of these non-intoxicating and fascinating substances.

Is CBD Oil Legal in the UK?

It is entirely legal to buy and take CBD supplements in the UK. Prime CBD is a member of the Cannabis Trades Association UK (CTA UK), a body created to ensure legal and ethical CBD trading standards in the UK. CTA UK works closely with the MHRA, FSA and CTPA to comply with EU and UK legislation and regulations. Only selected companies that meet exceptionally high quality standards are allowed to carry its seal of approval; its members guarantee transparency in trading, registration, batch testing and labelling, with reliable and accurate product information to give consumers peace of mind.

How Strong Are Your Products and What Percent Are They?

Prime CBD do not express the strength of our products as a percentage on our bottles. Instead we tell you exactly how many milligrams or MG’s there are within your bottle. We believe percentages can be very misleading unless you know exactly how to calculate a % based on the original compounds added to a product. As an example for you, our 300MG CBD in a 20ML bottle would give you a CBD % of 1.5%.

Will CBD show up if I was to take a drug test?

CBD is a legal ingredient and is therefore not tested for in drug tests used to detect illegal drugs. As long as you take a pharmaceutical grade CBD product, which has been independently tested to ensure no significant content of psychoactive THC, then CBD will not show up in a drug test.

How long does it take for CBD Oil to work?

The speed at which CBD works will depend on the delivery method you choose for your intake of CBD oil. Capsules typically have a slower release, while oral sprays are absorbed more quickly. Both our capsules and our sprays are blended with either olive oil or MCT’s (Coconut oil) to aid the absorption rate.

How long does CBD stay in your system?

Health experts say, ‘The effects of CBD vary and can last for around 3 to 5 hours. After this time period, the effects will begin to fade. Although it will take 1 to 2 days for all the CBD to disappear from the body, we recommend taking CBD at regular intervals throughout the day.

Can CBD Oil cure any conditions or illnesses?

We produce CBD oil that is sold as a food supplement, so we’re not making any medical claims. However we do encourage you to research this topic yourself, as there are trustworthy websites where you’ll find studies on cannabidiol. Our CBD products are not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Is it safe to travel with CBD Oil?

While CBD is legal throughout the European Union we still recommend caution when travelling with it. It is a cannabis product, after all, and there is a small chance airport staff may confuse it for illegal cannabis products and seize it. Ultimately it is your decision if you choose to travel with CBD products – and we have never heard of a customer getting in trouble for doing so – but you should bear in mind that probably not everyone who works in an airport will be aware of the legality of CBD, but everyone will know the illegality of cannabis in general. When travelling outside of Europe we strongly recommend not travelling with CBD.
